The Sampraday grew from Ramanand Swami’s Uddhav fellowship. Neelkanth Varni received the name Sahajanand Swami and later its leadership. The Swaminarayan mantra became central to the community’s worship.

Puja, meditation, honest work, and service give spiritual practice a place in everyday life. The tradition emphasizes devotion to Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the pursuit of liberation.
