A calendar shaped
by the lunar cycle.
What is a tithi?
A tithi is a lunar day. Sud identifies the waxing half of the lunar month, and Vad the waning half. A tithi can span more than one civil date, and two tithis may appear together. The calendar preserves the notation in the supplied Dallas schedule.
Is a festival date the same as the temple celebration?
A religious observance and its Dallas community celebration may fall on different dates. Dallas programs are labeled separately. Event times were not supplied; please contact the mandir before making plans.
What do tentative and backup dates mean?
Entries marked with a question mark in the workbook are shown as tentative. Rain dates are shown as backup dates. Other programs are listed from the supplied schedule, without implying a confirmed time.
Where do the dates come from?
Dates, tithis, and program notes come from the “Dallas Yearly Schedule” tab of the supplied USA Calendar ’26–’27 workbook. The month headings specify 2026–2027, while Excel’s underlying dates are one year behind. We use the headings, which match every listed weekday. Original tithi and observance placements are retained, including any differences between them.
How are eclipse entries handled?
Eclipse dates are preserved as listed observances. They do not establish visibility in Dallas or ritual timings. Contact the temple for local guidance.
